We’re aiming to turn over our fleet of kayaks so that we always have brand new equipment for our customers. We use quality Australian made kayaks from Australis Canoes. The kayak we use is called a Lynxx. It is a fantastic sit on top kayak which can be set up as a single or double kayak. When the kayak is set up as a double there is space in the middle for a young child (6 or under) to sit which is perfect for families.
The kayaks come with two comfortable backrests which make a huge difference in terms of comfort when paddling. No more lower back pain when paddling a kayak.
The kayaks are made from a strong plastic that is durable and won’t scratch and puncture easily like some cheap kayaks on the market.
The kayaks are very well made and are extremely stable. You have to try really hard to capsize them. They hold their line and don’t zig zag all over the place. They also cut through the water well, a good balance between stability and speed. Some kayaks are very stable but they’re like trying to paddle an aircraft carrier.
The kayaks also have storage in the hull where you can place items you wish to keep dry. A dry bag is recommended for valuables.
A brand new Lynxx retails for $1610. I’m reselling my Lynxx kayaks which are 2 and 1/2 years old for $800. They come with 2 comfortable back rests and 2 paddles. They have a few minor scratches and scuff marks on the bottom from normal wear and tear, but have no major damage.
