I discovered a new track while hiking through Ku-Ring-Gai National Park last week that we will be incorporating into Pittwater Kayak Tours. The walk begins at The Basin which is a beautiful picnic area with BBQ facilities where you are guaranteed to see Wallabies. The wallabies are wild, but used to human interaction so are very tame and will allow you quite close to them.
I continued up the Basin Track where I saw a plethora of Native wildflowers beginning to bloom. There were all sorts of colours and varieties in this true Australian Bush.
There were also extravagant Aboriginal engravings along the way which have been preserved.
As I followed the track towards Great Mackerel Beach I was rewarded with breathtaking views looking over Great Mackerel and Pittwater towards Barrenjoey lighthouse. It was a truly magical way to spend a day.
