Peter and his partner Jenny came along for a paddle and took advantage of the Father’s Day Special for his Dad Steve and his lovely wife Joy. We’d had a lot of rain and there were some beautiful little waterfalls flowing down the side of the West Head all the way to the beach.

Unbeleivable sunset
Cracking day for a paddle with work mates.
A bunch of workmates and myself enjoyed a cracking Winter’s day last week out on the beautiful stretch of water that is Pittwater. The morning started out a bit windy and we got a bit wet and cold on the way over but soon warmed up once we started paddling. We disembarked on the beautiful Resolute Bay and then started out 2.5km round trip to West Head. One of my mates brought his gorgeous little two and half year old daughter along who thoroughly enjoyed both the paddle and being on Dad’s back in her harness during the bush walk.
Check out some of the testimonials:
“We had an amazing time with PKT! Greg is a very knowledgeable guide who knows the local area in detail. His passion for kayaking and the local area including its history make for an amazing time. The scenery along the way is breathtaking even on a winter’s day. We highly recommend this adventure.(Craig and Lara Winden)
“We had a great morning kayaking and bush walking with PKT last Sunday. Loved being out on the water and the walk up to West Head was stunning! Yum snacks at the top too. Great guidance and instruction from Greg meant we could feel comfortable and just relax and enjoy the tour. Will Be back again. Thanks for a fun morning!” (Ash Mallin)
PKT joins Take 3 for the Sea
Pittwater Kayak Tours is proud to be a part of the “Take 3 for the Sea” initiative. It is an extremely simple but effective way to help clean up our beaches and protect marine life. The message is easy: each time you go to the beach simply pick up 3 or more bits of rubbish and put them in a bin.
All of PKT’s employees take part in this initiative each time we partake in a tour to help keep Pittwater’s Pristine beaches clean, we also try to incorporate this into our daily lives. PKT encourage all customers who enjoy one of our tours to participate in Take 3 for the Sea (it is not not compulsory though). We hope that customers will then take this simple message away and build it into their daily lives and tell their friends.
It is so easy for all people to make this practice a part of their daily lives no matter where they live. Each day, just pick up 3 or more pieces of rubbish and put them in the bin.

Fun Family outing
Local family, the Hawlings, enjoyed a fun, family outing with Pittwater Kayak Tours. The group of 6 paddled across Pittwater before embarking on 2 bushwalks to West Head and to the top of the Resolute Track where we explored the Aboriginal “Red Hands” cave. Sarah, Joss, the girls and international student Ben all paddled well.
This is what Sarah had to say “Thank you SO MUCH! We really had a great time and really enjoyed it! You are a fab tour guide!!!”
Native wild flowers in bloom in Ku-Ring-Gai National Park
I discovered a new track while hiking through Ku-Ring-Gai National Park last week that we will be incorporating into Pittwater Kayak Tours. The walk begins at The Basin which is a beautiful picnic area with BBQ facilities where you are guaranteed to see Wallabies. The wallabies are wild, but used to human interaction so are very tame and will allow you quite close to them.
I continued up the Basin Track where I saw a plethora of Native wildflowers beginning to bloom. There were all sorts of colours and varieties in this true Australian Bush.
There were also extravagant Aboriginal engravings along the way which have been preserved.
As I followed the track towards Great Mackerel Beach I was rewarded with breathtaking views looking over Great Mackerel and Pittwater towards Barrenjoey lighthouse. It was a truly magical way to spend a day.
Uni Students enjoy Sunrise Tour
3 university students made the early morning trip out to Palm Beach for the sunrise tour and were rewarded with some spectacular memories. Maria, Alex and Becca landed on the western side of Pittwater at Resolute Bay to watch the sun rise over Barrenjoey Headland. After a couple of quick photos we trekked up to West Head lookout to the expansive views over Pittwater, Broken Bay and the Hawkesbury.
A real highlight of the trip was on the way back when a lone dolphin swam up and said hello, surfacing repeatedly just metres from our kayaks before swimming directly underneath us and off on its merry way.
This is what Maria had to say “We had a great time Greg! Thank You :)”
Kayaking with freinds
A couple of weeks back I was surprised when a bunch of my good friends turned up who had booked the tour under another name. In very windy and rainy conditions we pressed on and ended up having a fun (but cold) time.
I was most impressed by my mate’s little 3 year old Will who came along with us in between his dad’s legs. He didn’t winge or complain once. On the way back he even fell asleep. What a little champion.
Here are a few testimonials.
“Hey mate, really enjoyed the walk as much as the paddle. I thought they were both a good distance…. you’re doing a great job” Dean butler
