Paddling on Pittwater, just 30kms from the centre of Sydney city with this family was loads of fun. Constant banter between the 3 brothers and Mum Yola was very entertaining. The family had a great day with all that Pittwater Kayak Tours offers and Yola was particularly impressed by many of the rock formations that line picturesque Resolute Bay. The boat that got stranded was there for the long haul after another boat attempted to tow the stranded boat out but were unsuccessful. Thankfully on the next high tide the boat was able to be towed back out.
An Irishman in Australia
Connor had just arrived in Australia and was wondering what to do in Sydney. He thought, what better way to come and experience Australia than to go for a paddle with Pittwater Kayak Tours on beautiful Pittwater and then bush walk in Ku Ring Gai National Park. We also paddled to Coasters Retreat and the Basin where Connor was able to get up close and personal with a Wallaby.
Dad and Daughter Enjoy a Paddle Together
This legend Damien, was back from Thailand with his family and brought his 6 year old daughter along for a paddle with Pittwater Kayak Tours. They both loved the paddle across Pittwater and young Harper who is only 6 took the bush walk all in her stride. She especially loved the muesli cookie at the top of West Head.
When we arrived back at Palm Beach, Damien and Harper met the rest of their family and they enjoyed a picnic in Pittwater Park near Palm Beach Ferry Wharf with fish and chips from the local restaurant. A great day was had by all.
Northern Beaches Locals Experience Pittwater from a Different Perspective.
This local family from Newport on Sydney’s Northern Beaches came for a paddle with Pittwater Kayak Tours and had an absolute blast. With kids Lani, Tyler and Jasmine aged 10, 13 and 14 and mum Nikki they explored parts of Pittwater that they had never been to before even though they’d lived here their whole life. They bush walked through Ku Ring Gai Chase National Park to Third Head and were amazed at the Aboriginal cave with hundreds of Aboriginal hand prints which experts believe to be up to 2000 years old. They then marveled at the spectacular panoramic views over Pittwater, Palm Beach and Barrenjoey Headland. They enjoyed some fresh fruit which mum approved of and then had a quick swim to cool off down in the crystal clear waters of Resolute Bay.
Come and Play in Summer Bay
These English expats came for a paddle with Pittwater Kayak Tours. Due to a howling Nth Easter we were unable to cross Pittwater so instead paddled up to Barrenjoey Headland where I anchored my kayaks with my assistant Jack and then we walked up to Barrenjoey lighthouse. Unfortunately we didn’t see any whales on this afternoon, but they are regularly seen from this spot. Barrenjoey lighthouse is 1 of only 2 lighhouses on the entire east coast of Australia that isn’t painted white. We had beautiful views out over both Pittwater and Palm Beach which is where they film the hit TV series Home and Away. This paddle is a must for any English backpackers who love Home and Away and all that “Summer Bay” offers.
Sunrise Paddle Before Work
These two motivated people and good friends of mine, Brendan and Jamie, know how to get their day off to the right start. It means getting up before dawn but the feeling of doing exercise and going somewhere that has as much natural beauty as Pittwater, Resolute Bay, KuRing Gai Chase National Park and stunning views leaves you buzzing and feeling euphoric for the rest of the day.
Couple in their 60’s come for a Sunrise Tour!
School Excursion Part 2
Pittwater Kayak Tours operating on the Northern Beaches of Sydney is definitely on the list of things to do no matter what age you are. I took the second half of my class out for a paddle across beautiful Pittwater and then a bush walk through Ku Ring Gai Chase National Park up to West Head where the class enjoyed their fresh fruit, muesli cookies and bottles of water while looking out at the amazing views over Palm Beach, Barrenjoey Headland, Broken Bay and Lion Island.

Parties can be tailored to suit individual needs. Some parental supervison is required which will depend on group numbers and children’s ages. All safety equipment is supplied and meets all industry and Australian standards.
I have over 12 years experience working with children and I’m a qualified PE and Primary School teacher.
A School Excursion
Monday to Friday I’m a school teacher so I rewarded my class by taking them out for a paddle with Pittwater Kayak Tours. I took half the class out yesterday with their parents and we were blessed with an absolute postcard of a day. The sun was shining, there was just a puff of wind and it was really nice to share this experience outside of the school grounds.
The kids were all little legends and smashed the paddle and the bush walk.
The other half of the class come out tomorrow, although I don’t think the weather is looking quite as nice.
